The internet has become the new Wild West where anything goes and anything said is published and republished absent truth or validity. If you have an axe to grind with a competitor, want to pass on false information about a restaurant, smear a person you do not like, lie your heart out then welcome to the world of false & scam information. There are hundreds of websites these days that will allow a person to make false accusations about people, companies, restaurants, competitors, etc. without these sites validating the information put up. These sites simply want to grow their audience. No regulations exist and increasing the unfairness information can be placed anonymously. Once information is posted on those sites it is only a matter of time in which Google or DogPile or any number of search engines through there algorithms will sweep up that specious information and post it for the world to see.
